What we do
Sally C Designs offer a wide selection of original designs in ladies clothing based on historical styles, including day-wear, ball gowns, wedding dresses and accessories. Although specializing in the early Victorian era, we also make gowns based on other periods, such as Edwardian, Georgian and Tudor styles.
By selling purely via the internet, we are able to keep our overheads to an absolute minimum and produce high quality hand-crafted original garments at very competitive prices.
Each one of our outfits is individually hand made using period sewing techniques, and with an attention to detail not usually found in modern garments. Using quality fabrics, exquisite laces and lavish trims, we create clothing that brings back the look, feel and fantasy of a bygone age and, as they are all a little different, you will be purchasing an outfit that is unique.
We also offer a line of undergarments and accessories that complete the period look without compromising modern standards of comfort and convenience

Our bridal line offers gowns that recreate the romance and luxury of the past, to help make your wedding truly unforgettable. You can have an exclusive, one of a kind, precious and lasting reminder of your special day. There is a range of unique gowns available for immediate sale on this site, or you may want to consider commisioning your own bespoke variation of our designs.
FAQ - Answers to some of the things you may be wondering….
Can I visit you to try on a few dresses, get a personal fitting etc.?
As a small company our intention is to keep our costs to an absolute minimum, so that we can offer you top quality outfits at great prices. Manning a shop or showroom would greatly increase our overheads and so unfortunately we are not able to offer this facility at present. However, we pride ourselves on an excellent personal on-line service, so please e-mail us with any queries and we will respond as soon as we can.
So how can I ensure my garment will fit?
The best way is to measure yourself accurately, or better still get someone else to do it for you. As 'standard' dress sizes vary from country to country and even between manufacturers, all our items quote bust, waist, length and, where appropriate, hip measurements . If you are in any doubt , please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to check and advise you. Rest assured that the vast majority of our customers are delighted with their purchases, but we do, of course, offer a return policy on all stock items. What about International sales?
No problem. Although we are based in the UK, we are happy to accept overseas orders and have customers in many countries across the world, as can be seen in our photo album page. However, please note that all our prices are quoted in British pounds (GBP) and that sales to areas outside the EU may incur customs or import duties which will need to be taken into account.
Do you accept custom orders?
Yes. If you don't find anything suitable in our stock range or have any special requirements, we do take a limited number of custom orders each month. Please see the Bespoke Designs page for further details.
Bio - Sally Clark
The growth of the internet enabled her to realize her dream of starting her own business and making her specialized style of clothing available to fellow enthusiasts around the world.
Sally has now returned to her roots in the UK, where she has been able to re-launch her business, and further develop her collection, with a new range of styles and influences.
Understandably, some customers have asked for her references and the most independent source is her feedback from sales on eEbay. Sally's EBay name is victoriandressmaker, so look her up and see what her previous customers have had to say.
Sally Clark was born in Devon, England and began sewing at a very early age, rapidly progressing from doll's clothing into the design and production of her own outfits. Whilst living in the USA she began producing ball gowns as a hobby, and was persuaded to enter them in State wide competitions. After winning Montana State Fair Best of Show awards in various categories for several years running, she developed a long-standing interest in historical styles while working with several Victorian re- enactment groups in the state. This led to work with an historical documentary film unit as well as producing costumes for prestigious events at venues including the White House.
