Custom Orders
As well as the stock items for sale on these pages, we are also able to take a limited number of commissions for bespoke outfits. This allows you to choose the style and, subject to availability of materials, colour and fabric of your dress. We will also, of course, make the dress to your measurements, on the understanding that it may need a final fitting and possible alteration locally on receipt (as an internet-only business we are unable to offer this service).
Custom orders are based on variations of our own designs only, so please do not ask us to copy other designer's work or make reproductions of TV or film costumes.
Lead Times
Orders are taken on a first-come first-served basis, so if you need an item for a specific event, please let us know as far in advance as possible. This will enable the work to be scheduled and any necessary supplies to be obtained. Once design and fabric choices have been finalized, we will normally need a further six to eight weeks for completion, remembering that shipping will take additional time, especially overseas. However, we are sometimes able to fulfil orders at shorter notice, so if you are on a tight timescale please get in touch - we may still be able to help.
Pricing
Custom orders are charged at a minimum of 15% more than the equivalent stock item, although this may vary depending on fabric, sizing and design options. Prices are quoted in UK pounds and will remain valid for sixty days.
We will require a 50% deposit on all custom items, which is not refundable once the work has started or fabric has been purchased. The final payment is due when the item is completed and ready to ship. There are no returns on custom orders, sorry.
A final costing will be given before starting any order and will not change unless the fabric and design choices do, and not without pre approval from you. However, please note that overseas orders outside the EU may incur customs or import duty, which is the sole responsibility of the customer.
Measurements
A downloadable measurement chart (MS Word format) is available below, which should be completed and returned, via post or e-mail, with all custom orders. It's obviously important for all measurements to be as accurate as possible, so it is advisable to get someone to help you. Please measure whilst wearing the same undergarments and shoes you plan on wearing with the dress as this can change the measurements considerably.
